Chief (Hon.) Dr. Nwokolu Dimkpa-Nte, JP is a seasoned administrator, politician, community leader, and philanthropist whose life reflects an unwavering commitment to service, enterprise, and leadership. For decades, he has made impactful contributions across the public and private sectors, leaving enduring footprints in governance, youth development, and community advancement in Eleme and Rivers State.
Early Life and Birth
Born on May 5, 1960, in Njuru Community, Agbonchia Clan, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, young Nwokolu displayed early signs of leadership, curiosity, and determination: qualities that would later define a life of purpose and distinction.
Education
Chief Dimkpa-Nte began his academic journey at the State Primary School, Agbonchia, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1973. He proceeded to Ascension High School, Ogale, Eleme, earning his West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) in 1979.
With a deep interest in management and leadership, he advanced to the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (now Rivers State University), Port Harcourt, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Management (1983–1987). This solid educational foundation prepared him for the challenges of public administration and corporate leadership.
Career Path
Chief Dimkpa-Nte’s professional journey began as an Accounts Clerk at the Eleme Urban Council, Ebubu (1980–1983). During his undergraduate years, he undertook an Industrial Attachment with the Rivers State Ministry of Information in 1986.
After graduation, he served as a Supervisor with the Directorate of Food, Roads and Rural Infrastructure (DFRRI), Sokoto State (1987–1988), gaining vital experience in grassroots administration and rural development.
He later joined the Rivers State Post Primary Schools Management Board as a Grade II Master (1990–1993) before moving to the private sector as Administrative Manager at Consort Engineering Nigeria Ltd, Port Harcourt (1994–1996).
His proven leadership and competence earned him election as the first Executive Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area (1997–1998) : a tenure widely remembered for effective grassroots governance, developmental strides, and people-oriented administration.
In 1998, he became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dimkpa-Nte and Sons Nigeria Ltd (1998–2004). Since 2003, he has served as Executive Director of Kaneg Integrated Services, a respected firm engaged in industrial and community development consultancy.
Public Service and Political Involvement
Chief Dimkpa-Nte’s political and civic engagements span several decades and diverse roles. His leadership journey began early, serving as Dormitory Prefect at Ascension High School (1979) and President of the National Association of Eleme Students (NAES), RSUST Chapter (1985–1986).
He went on to serve as Chairman, SDP Youth Wing (1991–1993); State Assistant Secretary, ANPP South-East Zone (2002); and Chairman, ANPP Local Government Electoral Committee (2002).
He also played significant roles in national political mobilization as State Auditor, IBB Vision 2003, and later as Chairman and Campaign Director, Divine Support Group for Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi (2006–2007).
In 2007, he was appointed Senior Special Adviser, Rivers Democratic Vanguard to Governor Sir Celestine Omehia and later Special Adviser, Consolidation for Legacy (2007).
His contribution to education and human capital development was further recognized with his appointment as a Member, Rivers State Scholarship Board (2008).
Community Service and Traditional Leadership
Deeply rooted in his community, Chief Dimkpa-Nte has consistently worked for the progress and unity of his people. He served as Secretary, Community Development Committee (CDC), Njuru Community (1983–1990); Secretary, Ogbo Lorompio, Agbonchia (1985–1997); and Member, Joint Community Relations Committee (JCRC) (1999–2005).
He also served as Pioneer Chairman, Indigenous Contractors Association, Rivers State (2007), and Chairman, Farmers Association of Nigeria (FAN), Eleme Chapter (2007).
Today, he stands as the Paramount Ruler of Njuru Community and a Member of the Eleme Council of Chiefs. He has also been Patron of the Galaxy of Friends Social Club, Eleme, since 1995, a testament to his enduring influence and respect within Eleme society.
Awards and Honours
Chief (Hon.) Dr. Nwokolu Dimkpa-Nte’s contributions have earned him numerous recognitions and honours. He was appointed Justice of the Peace (JP) by the Rivers State Government in 1998 and conferred with the traditional title Emere Ochure Nyen I of Ekporo the same year.
That year also saw him receive an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Management from Golden Gate University, USA, in recognition of his exceptional leadership, community service, and contributions to societal growth.
Personal Life
A devout Christian and family man, Chief Nwokolu Dimkpa-Nte lives a life guided by faith, humility, and service. His hobbies include reading, traveling, indoor games, and making friends.
Through his numerous leadership roles and public service, he continues to embody the virtues of good governance, mentorship, and devotion to the progress of Eleme and Rivers State at large.
